Valley of Giants is a demanding road cycling loop that takes you from Poreč deep into the heart of Istria and back to the coast. Over 93 km and around 1,500 m of elevation gain, the route combines rolling country roads, longer climbs and fast descents with some of the most rewarding views in inland Istria.

From Poreč, the route climbs gently through vineyards towards Višnjan and Karojba before reaching the hills above the Mirna Valley, where Motovun dominates the landscape. From here, the route heads into the valley and towards Oprtalj, one of Istria’s favourite climbs among road cyclists. The ride continues through Grožnjan, the hilltop town known as the Town of Artists, before a long descent and another challenging climb towards Vižinada. The final section takes you back towards the coast through vineyards and olive groves.

With 96 km of paved roads, numerous climbs and a constantly changing landscape, this is a route for experienced road cyclists looking for a proper day in the saddle – with plenty of reasons to stop along the way.
